Tijs Slaats is a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Copenhagen. His research interests include declarative and hybrid process technologies, the application of formal methods to business process management, process mining and information systems development. He is currently working on the Hybrid Business Process Management Technologies project, funded by a personal grant from the Danish Council for Independent Research. Tijs has published in various high-ranking international conferences and journals in the fields of formal methods, business process management and software engineering. As an industrial PhD student, he both played a fundamental role in the development of the theoretical foundations of the declarative DCR Graphs process modelling notation, and was the principal architect behind the DCR Portal (http://www.dcrgraphs.net/), the first web-based and commercially available declarative process modelling tool.
